Council

St. John's Church Council is the governing body for the congregation having general oversight of its life and activities. In particular its worship life, to the end that everything be done in accordance with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It consists of a president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary who make up the executive council, and 12 members of the council at large. The council members are voted into office at the annual meeting in the first quarter of the calendar year.

The council is responsible for the affairs of St John's as defined in our constitution. The council meets each month on the second Tuesday at 7 PM. Each council member is expected to be a representative to at least one commission to help keep the lines of communication open.

The council hosts a breakfast in the fellowship hall each month on the third Sunday and during the breakfast we hold an open forum to share information about what council is doing and to allow people to ask questions.
