2011 Lutefisk Dinner will be held on October 27, 2011

beginning again at 4 PM until all are served

With fall fast approaching, preparations are being made for our annual Lutefisk Dinner and Bake Sale which will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2011. The tradition of this dinner gives each member of St. John's the opportunity to participate in many different ways--please think about how YOU can help this year!

Letters will be mailed to each congregational family on October 1 asking for a specific donation. We cannot stress enough the importance of your donation. We have carefully calculated the necessary amount of potatoes, coleslaw, cranberry relish, baked goods, butter and coffee needed to feed almost 2000 people. In addition, the monetary donations help purchase the lutefisk and meat ball ingredients. Because of this, it is crucial that you notify us if you do not intend to fulfill your donation or if you would prefer a different category so that we have enough food on Lutefisk Day!

Lefse bakes start on August 24 and will continue every Wednesday morning for nine weeks. More volunteers are always appreciated. Call 634.7621 for additional information on the lefse bakes.

On Sunday, September 25, and Wednesday, September 28, members of the Lutefisk Dinner Committee will be in the narthex before and after services with signup sheets for workers needed the week of the dinner. Workers will be needed in all areas beginning Tuesday, October 25, through Thursday, October 27. Please help us by signing up or by contacting any of the committee members listed below.
