Greetings from the Creation Kids Preschool Board

Many of you may remember seeing or hearing something about the Great Lakes Scrips Program in the past few months. Are you still a bit unclear as to what it is? Hopefully, the following quick reference will help.

WHAT IS SCRIPS?
Scrips is a cooperative effort between a large number of vendors throughout the Midwest and participating non-profit organizations, such as Creation Kids Preschool.

HOW DOES SCRIPS WORK?
Basically, you purchase a gift card through the Creation Kids' Scrips program. You receive the gift card at full purchase value (just as if you had paid for it in the store). You or someone else redeems it at full face value (just like any other card you would purchase in the store).

HOW DOES SCRIPS BENEFIT CREATION KIDS PRESCHOOL?
Because participating retailers have agreed to sell the gift cards at discounted prices, Creation Kids Preschool receives a pre-determined percentage of every card purchased. The proceeds will be put toward the purchase of program equipment, as well as supplement a scholarship fund available to families needing tuition assistance.

WHAT RETAILERS PARTICIPATE IN SCRIPS?
Order form with a condensed list of retailers that you may download and use. You may want to check out the complete list of gift cards available, including travel and entertainment options also. Order forms will be updated periodically as new retailers are added or removed from the list.

WHEN DO I ORDER? HOW DO I RECEIVE MY ORDER?
Orders are due by the first monday of each month. They may be picked up the second wednesday following the due date. Orders may be dropped off in the locked CKP drop-box in the St. John's office. Teachers will NOT be responsible for any orders sent with children to school. Orders can be picked up in the church lobby during the dates and times indicated. If unavailable to pick up during these times, please indicate on your order, and other arrangements will be made.

DOWNSIDE?
It takes planning to use the program for routine purchases, but even small orders from a few families can make a big difference. For example, if 12 families purchased only $50 in Kwik Trip gas cards every month for a year, Creation Kids Preschool would receive nearly $300 in proceeds to put back into their program.
